Monkey on tee 5

Monkey on tee 5 Everyone knows that a golf player covers the heads of his woods with something so that they do not get scratched when they hit against other clubs in the bag. Many woods are also equipped with adoring animal heads.

Almost every head cover has a story to tell - and my nice monkeys were given to me by a golf partner with whom I in fact met a herd of baboons on tee 5. It happened to us in South Africa and we were very surprised as we came around the corner and saw the male monkey sitting on the yellow teeing ground to make sure that his herd could cross the fairway safely. In order to avoid problems we let this "flight" have the hole to themselves and went to the next one.

This golf story is to show you that golf is more than just hitting a ball with some clubs.

And once more the wonderful and rational reason why it is legitimate to carry around these childish mascots: Recently I lost my monkey on hole 6, but was able to get it back before we left the tee at hole 7. Still it took me 10 more holes to settle my nerves.
