Miracle clubs

Miracle clubs

I know how you feel. The last month I have been hearing other golf players talking about how wonderful this set of clubs is, and how bad the others are. I have read internet pages about how to choose the right golf clubs, and I have been wondering if I should make an appointment with someone who can make golf clubs that are tailor-made for me.

It is fascinating to wonder about how much better I would have been if only the clubs were right. I was standing on the driving range and felt that my balls were flying in all directions when I was asked by a couple of friends from the golf club if I wanted to play a round with them. One of the players is very good. He has a set of woods that look good and he is able to hit the balls further than I am.

At the end of the round he looked at my golf bag and the clubs and told me he had heard about the set that I was playing with.

"The irons are very good, but the woods are much too flexible. That could be the reason why you end up in the bushes all the time." I listened to what he said. The thought of new clubs was fascinating. The next day I was up on the driving range, and my golf pro was standing next to me giving lessons to someone else. "That was a bit too far to the right," he said as my ball flew into the trees and bushes. At the next opportunity when he was alone, I approached him and told him the story about the clubs that I have that may not be good enough.

"I think you should concentrate on fixing your swing, and not thinking about new clubs now," he said.

I returned to my range balls - having learned a lesson.
